SCMAT South Carolina Wrestling

2022 season recap

The annual South Carolina Wrestling Officials Association pre season scrimmage will be held on November 19th at River Bluff High School. This year we want to add a 5th mat for female wrestlers only if we have enough interest. Cost would be $5 per wrestler made payable to river bluff. At the NCAA D1 Nationals, Dazjon Casto (Citadel and former Fort Dorchester wrestler) had a 1st round win at 157-lbs. over returning National Champion Austin O'Connor (UNC) ... congratulations Dazjon!

Two SC Women's Collegiate wrestling programs finished in the Top 15 of Team Standings at NCWWC Championships! Limestone finished 12th and Presbyterian 15th

Limestone had two All-Americans - Gabriela Ramos-Diaz (5th) and Journey Land (8th).

Presbyterian had three All-Americans - Jaslynn Gallegos (4th), Samantha Miller (5th) and Ainslie Lane (8th).

Congratulations to Lander University's Zeth Brower for becoming a D2 National Champion and All-American!

Three SC wrestling programs finished in the Top 20 of Team Standings at D2 Nationals! Lander finished 13th, Newberry 15th and Limestone 17th.

Limestone had two All-Americans - Kevin Radcliff (7th) and Majid Corbett (6th). Corbett wrestled at Sumter.

Newberry had two All-Americans - Isiah Royal (4th) and Caleb Spears (7th)

At the NCWA National Championships, two SC wrestling programs finished in the Top 21 of Team Standings! Clemson finished 19th, Allen University 21st.

Allen had one All-American - Michael Jackson (5th)

Clemson had two All-Americans - Drew Doscher (5th) and Isaac Manning (4th). Manning wrestled at Lexington.

Congratulations to the collegiate All-Americans from this weekend with SC ties!

Several updates from the South Carolina Wrestling Coaches Association (SCWCA) have been posted under the News section, one regarding Team SC that will wrestle Team NC at the North/South All-Star weekend.
